STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Strength training involves the performance of physical exercises which are designed to improve strength and endurance. This style of training can provide significant functional benefits and improvement in overall health and well-being. Strength is an important part of any training program as it promotes increased bone, muscle, tendon and ligament strength which will improve joint function and reduce potential for injury.

PT 3 WEIGHT LOSS.jpeg

WEIGHT LOSS

Fat loss can be achieved with an effective training program and a healthy balance of your nutrition, which means ongoing lifestyle changes. People who lose weight gradually are more successful at keeping weight off which is why fad diets are not the answer. Even a modest weight loss of 5 to 10 percent of your total body weight is likely to produce health benefits such as improvements in blood pressure and cholesterol, not to mention improved self esteem, energy levels and quality sleep.

PT 4 CARDIO.jpg

CARDIO FITNESS

Cardiovascular exercise is any activity that gets your blood pumping and large muscle groups working. Experts recommend getting at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous activity each week. Having a regular cardio routine has so many health benefits as well as being great for your mental health and burning fat, it can also help to reduce the risk of several diseases, strengthen your immune system, improves lung function and heart strength, promotes quality sleep.

MENTAL HEALTH.jpg

MENTAL HEALTH

Exercise releases endorphins; another benefit is that it simply makes you feel good afterward. Fitness is a healthy way to combat mental health issues like depression, anxiety or stress. Aside from the endorphins, as you are exercising you are challenging yourself mentally. There are bound to be times throughout your training when you feel like quitting but pushing through and completing a tough workout gives you a great sense of accomplishment and leads to a natural high. When you get into the routine of doing exercise your energy levels and confidence improves massively.

ALL AGES.jpg

ALL AGES

As you grow older, an active lifestyle becomes more important than ever to your health. Physical activity is the number one contributor to longevity, even if you don’t start exercising until your senior years. Getting active is not just about adding years to your life, it’s about adding life to your years! Exercise will help boost your energy, improve brain function, protect your heart, and manage symptoms of illness or pain. Not to mention helps manage your weight, promotes quality sleep and can enhance your mobility so you can maintain your independence.

PT 7 PREGNANCY.jpeg

PRENATAL TRAINING

The more active and fit you are during pregnancy, the easier it will be for you to adapt to your changing shape and weight gain. It will also help you cope with labour and get back into shape after the birth. Safe and controlled exercise is not dangerous for your baby; there is some evidence that active women are less likely to experience problems in later pregnancy and labour. Working out while you’re pregnant offers lots of benefits; you'll get a boost in mood and energy, a decrease in many pregnancy symptoms, and a quicker postpartum recovery. It will also help you manage stress and sleep better.
